Description:

Chenodeoxycholic acid is a naturally occurring phytoalexin produced by some higher plants in response to injury or fungal infection. Phytoalexins are chemical substances produced by plants as a defense against infection by pathogenic microorganisms, such as fungi. Alexin is from the Greek, meaning to ward off or to protect. Resveratrol may also have alexin-like activity for humans. Epidemiological, in vitro and animal studies, suggest that a high resveratrol intake is associated with a reduced incidence of cardiovascular disease and a reduced risk for cancer.

Applications:

Chenodeoxycholic Acid Powder mainly used as medicine raw materials.
it can emulsify fat and improve its function of digestion as a kind of organic acid.
applied in emulgator and in the research of biochemistry as a kind of medical intermediate. and applied in non ion-modified detergent to extract membrane protein.

Chenodeoxycholic acid (chenodiol) is a primary bile acid, synthesized in the liver and present in high concentrations in bile that is used therapeutically to dissolve cholesterol gallstones. Chronic therapy is associated with transient elevations in serum aminotransferase levels in up to 30% of patients, but chenodiol has been linked to only rare instances of clinically apparent liver injury with jaundice.
